Hot wings specialty restaurant Quaker Steak & Lube (QS&L) has announced plans to create thousands of new jobs across the U.S. over the next few years.
The Pennsylvania-based restaurant chain said it experienced "unprecedented growth" in 2011, opening eight new establishments, according to the Youngstown Vindicator.
John Longstreet, president and chief operating officer of OS&L, told the news agency the company is looking to open at least 12 new locations in 2012, including in North Carolina, Texas, New York and the Dakotas.
"2011 has been a tremendous year for our brand, and with these franchise development agreements and corporate restaurants, we are in a unique position to double our footprint in an extremely short time period," Longstreet noted. "All in all, between new and maintained job creation, we’re going to be looking at 6,000 new jobs next year."
Meanwhile, restaurant chain Texas Roadhouse announced it will be opening up a new Southwestern-themed steak house in Huntsville, Alabama, this spring, according to the Huntsville Times.
The chain said it expects to hire between 170 to 180 people, with approximately 60 percent of the jobs being part-time positions. Texas Roadhouse has 357 restaurants in 47 states.
