The legal services industry could increase its workforcein 2013, especially in the litigation sector. In fact, a recent survey shows that this segment could generate the greatest number of job opportunities for legal professionals in the future.
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, a January 2013 survey of U.S. attorneys revealed that some lawyers expect more litigation positions to become available this year. About 22 percent of survey respondents noted that they anticipate the litigation sector will generate the most jobs in 2013 – the highest percentage among legal services segments.Meanwhile, 19 percent of study participants said that they felt the general business and commercial law sectors would create more positions, and 19 percent stated that they considered healthcare law to be a popular choice for law firms.
Additionally, the survey showed that there is a high demand for qualified legal professionals across the country. Roughly 57 percent of survey respondents stated that they have some trouble finding legal talent in areas such as litigation, intellectual property and environmental law. However, U.S. legal practices may conduct extensive searches to add experienced lawyers to their firms in 2013, and these attorneys could become valuable contributors to their respective employers.
