State Farm plans to expand hiring across the country in insurance jobs including claim handling, customer service and sales support in moves that could fill more than 1,000 positions.
Hiring in downtown Tacoma, Washington will start with 500 new employees, while the company expects to ultimately employ 1,100 at its new claims center in the city, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. Those positions will mainly be claim handling and processing jobs with emphasis on customer service.
The company's initial job postings are currently looking for 263 claims associate employees, with another 235 planned to work in the company's Initial Loss Reporting center.
Meanwhile, job fairs held in Dallas are intended to fill several hundred job openings ranging from entry-level claims, customer service and sales support to professional-level claims positions and IT jobs, according to the Dallas Morning News.
This job fair comes after 500 to 600 people were hired for full-time and part-time jobs after an earlier fair was held in March. State Farm has been expanding its Dallas-based campus over the last two years to support rapid hiring of new employees as well as current ones.
