The improving job market is helping to create more positions for staffing agencies in California.
A new report from the California Employment Development Department found that between 2010 and 2012, the employment services sector grew by 15.4 percent to add approximately 7,200 jobs with Orange County leading the way, according to the Orange County Register.
The media outlet describes the employment services industry as companies that provide human resources, staffing and hiring management to other businesses and organizations, including recruitment firms.
Currently in Orange County, there are more than 55,700 people working in the employment services business.
A rise in employment is also helping employment agencies in the Chicago area.
According to a new survey by Smart Resources and Accountable Search, 38 percent of companies said they expect to use a recruitment or staffing agency to help them with their future employment needs. Approximately 40 percent of workers at Chicago companies are currently part-time, temporary or short-term contract employees hired through a staffing or employment services firm.
The American Staffing Association reports that 11.5 million contract and temporary employees are hired by staffing firms over the course of a year.
