The restaurant industry is expected to see increased hiring through the end of the year in both seasonal and regular positions, as the current trend of growth throughout the sector isn't expected to slow any time soon.
More jobs in the industry should be seen amid increased hiring available overall, according to Quick Service Magazine. About 69 percent of hiring managers expect to add seasonal staff this year, with each one planning to add 7.8 seasonal workers per company on average. Recently, strong growth in the restaurant industry has been a bright point in the market, and will see increased demand as temperatures drop, the holidays approach and consumers increasingly look to go out.
In one example of such hiring, the pet-friendly restaurant Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in southern California is expected to add 200 positions to its staff in anticipation of its first opening in Concord next month, according to the San Francisco Business Journal. Jobs will be available in both serving and cooking positions of the restaurant, which features a "dog menu" and allows pets to sit with their owners on its porch.
