In some cases, companies will relocate their headquarters in order to take advantage of a larger workforce and tax incentives that could save thousands of dollars.
The fragrance company For Every Home, which was first established in Utah in 2008, decided to move its operations to Coachella Valley, California, KESQ-TV reports. The firm was started by Paul and Becky Anderson, who hope that the new location will increase sales of its oils, candles and other items. The Andersons were pleased with the talent available in their new location.
"We've felt like we could create a pool of people – employees – that would have a great attitude and we could build a culture we want to build here," said Paul Anderson in an interview with the source."We were a green company long before green was cool. It's just something we've hung our hat on."
While the firm is hoping that its move will bring more profits, not all corporate relocations turn out well. In one recent high-profile fiasco, former Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling's 38 Studios, which moved from Massachusetts to Rhode Island, was forced to lay off its entire staff after running out of funds.
