The City of Brotherly Love could experience job growth in 2013, thanks in part to the veterinary services segment. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, a branch of the??Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center will be constructed in Philadelphia this year, which could bring more employment opportunities to veterinary professionals in the area.??

Center officials will invest $4.1 million in the development of the facility, and workers at the site will provide 24-hour support. Facility specialists will offer assistance to cats and dogs and the location will include 77 rooms – 12 for cats and 65 for dogs.??

Howard Wellens, medical director of the Queen Village Animal Hospital, noted that the new facility could have a major impact on the city. He acknowledged that there are few veterinary services facilities in the area, which could lead many people to seek support for their pets from the center’s professionals.??

A wide variety of jobs could become available to veterinary services experts in Philadelphia, as these workers will be necessary for the new center to succeed. If facility administrators hire qualified staff members, the center can deliver reliable support to community members and could provide a boost to the local economy.??
