AREVA, a company that delivers low-carbon power generation solutions worldwide, is expanding its North American operations. The business intends to add new positions at its Charlotte, North Carolina, plant over the next four years, including multiple engineering jobs.
"We're proud to partner with AREVA to help them bring more jobs to [the area]," North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory said. "This announcement helps shine a spotlight on our skilled workforce and strong business climate."
Since 2002, AREVA has provided a boost to North Carolina's engineering sector. With the recent announcement, the company will bolster its reputation in the state and provide numerous opportunities to skilled engineering professionals throughout the region.
At the University of Texas at Arlington, many students recently listened to industry professionals discuss the opportunities available in the engineering sector. The Shorthorn reports that the Student Professional Awareness Conference in March 2013 enabled pupils to gain insight into the engineering field and fully understand what it takes to build a career in this segment.
If more students consider engineering opportunities, the sector could thrive and provide significant support to companies around the world.
