Manufacturing is set to see a big employment boost in the northern sections of the country, as not only are there thousands of jobs currently reported to be open in northern Michigan, but a plant's expansion in northern New York will also bring another hundred to the national fold.
According to ABC WXYZ, there are reportedly thousands of jobs currently open at plants around Macomb County in Michigan, right near the Canadian border. What's more, plenty of programs are said to be available for users, not only for training purposes, but also in the event they need re-training for specialized skills. From Fori Automation, which produces testing and welding equipment, to PTI Engineered Plastics, a plastic injection molding company, the jobs are not in short supply in the region.
In addition, an expansion of its factory has helped aluminum manufacturer Novelis Inc. create more than 100 jobs in Oswago, New York, according to Syracuse.com. By doing so, the company has expanded their capacity for aluminum sheet production to use in automobiles by 240,000 tons, five times the company's previous capacity.
