Tourism industry professionals help vacationers plan fun, exciting trips, and these specialists could watch their segment grow thanks in part to beaches across the United States. Port City Daily reports that a recent U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) study showed that beaches are among the top spots for Americans to vacation.
USACE spokesperson James Houston noted that tourism sector experts could focus their attention on promoting beach destinations to travelers. In fact, these vacation spots could help the segment expand significantly.
"Renewed U.S. investment in tourism infrastructure is important to grow the economy and number of jobs and to reduce the U.S. trade imbalance," Houston told the news source.
Miami is home to a number of beaches and has enjoyed substantial profits from its tourism sector recently. According to Miami Today, there were 116,500 tourism industry professionals employed across the Miami area in March 2012. Additionally, the tourism segment's workforce increased by more than 8,000 from March 2008 to March 2012, and the nation's recovery from the recession of the late 2000s could bring new opportunities to industry specialists in Miami and other areas of the country.
